STUDY OF PHYSICO CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF SOIL IN METODA AND SHAPAR INDUSTRIAL ZONE OF RAJKOT REGION
Keywords:
Industrial waste, Electrical conductivity, Water holding capacity, Soil moistureAbstract
Background and Objective: The soil polluted by industrial waste as well as over chemical fertilizers
throwing in agricultural land. The objective of the study was to evaluate the effects of different metals on
selected soil’s physical and chemical properties. Second thing was safety of cultivated vegetables and
humans concerns. Materials and Methods: soil samples were collected from industrial zones of Rajkot
Region. Selected soil’s physical and chemical properties were analyzed in the laboratory by using standard
procedures. Data was analyzed using statistical software. Results: The results of the study revealed that the
soil’s physical and chemical properties were significant affected by industrial waste. Soil Electrical
conductivity value, water holding capacity, soil moisture, and soil metal concentrations were changed.
Conclusion: It can be concluded that polluted soil has ability to transport of metals from soil to vegetables
and to the human, so it can create health issues.
